Like an old friend

ever since childhood.
YUM was born slowly, from within the paintings.
Through a long process of creation it gradually changed shape,
and around 2021 it began to be drawn as the character YUM.
01 / 2014
It had no name yet — drawn as a white, line-like presence that stays close to people. The mood is a little different, but hints of its budding eyes peek through in its poses and expressions.
02 / 2021
YUM appears clearly within the paintings as an independent presence, now with a name. From there it was shown around the world — New York, Paris, London, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and beyond — and collected across the globe.
03 / What's next
Beyond paintings, YUM keeps expanding
into art sofubi, art toys, sculptural works and many kinds of experiences.
The world of YUM will keep widening, little by little.
